Solution to Ball Mill Magnetic Liner

Magnetic liner is suitable for ball mill applied for ferrous metal ores, nonferrous metal ores and precious metal ores that contain magnetic minerals. Featuring a service life 4-6 times longer than the conventional high-manganese steel liner. Magnetic liner is a very good replacement of the conventional one.

Magnetic liner boasts of low repair and maintenance cost, accounting for only 25% to 40% of the repair and maintenance cost of high-manganese steel lining plate. It features small volume, simple installation, zero maintenance, a higher working efficiency by 3-4%, low weight, less load on ball mill, lower electricity consumption by 4-7%. Thanks to the thinness, the volume of the ball mill can be enlarged and the processing capacity can be improved. Since crushed media can be attached to the surface of magnetic liners, the grinding condition can be improved with lower consumption of grinding media. With no bolts on the cylinder, slurry is secure from leakage and the service life of all components like gear and cylinder can be greatly extended.

Case Analysis

Ф3.6× 6.0 m two-stage overflow mill is applied in Baotou Steel Corporation where the crude ore come from Baiyunebo Deposit. This is a symbiotic deposit of iron and multiple metals formed by sedimentary metamorphism - high temperature hydrothermal metasomatism with an average 32% iron and rare earth minerals, a mass density of 3.7 t/m³, a volume density of 2.3t /m³ and Platts hardness staying at 8 ~ 12. At present, 6 sets of Ф3.6×6.0m two-stage overflow mills have been put in operation with the following production indexes:

It can be concluded that magnetic lining plate has no negative effect on the mineral processing indicators like grinding particles, concentrate grade and recovery rate. With the replacement of magnetic lining plate, the processing capacity and operability of the grinding mill has been improved by 3.16% and 3.14% respectively.
